Breaking chains is a ministry whose foundation is built on love and encouragement. Our objective is to be a safe, confidential place where women can share their heart and believe there is emotional and divine healing. We are honest, and our conversations are thought-provoking, passionate, and sometimes with tears. Our time together is our source of healing for the pain we have endured or are currently enduring. We lift each other up in love and are committed to each other’s healing.
Our Story
Laurie Smith is the founder and president of Breaking Chains Women’s Ministries, a Spirit-led movement birthed from her own journey of healing and surrender. With over 30 years of walking with the Lord, Laurie’s life is a testimony of God’s redeeming love and unshakable faithfulness. Her heart beats for hurting and broken women, and her greatest joy is seeing them discover their worth in Christ and walk in freedom.She has faithfully served the local church in many roles—teacher, secretary, ministry leader, and is both an Ordained Minister and an Ordained Pastor. Laurie holds a Bachelor’s Degree and leads this ministry not in her own strength, but in full dependence on God’s guidance. Everything she builds is anchored in prayer and shaped by the Word of God.She and her husband, Jim, have been married for over 27 years. Together, they have raised six children, three are biological and three were lovingly brought into their family. They are proud grandparents of five. Laurie also co-owns Comfort Zone A/C and Heating, a family business of 30+ years that operates on kingdom principles.More than anything, Laurie is committed to loving well. Her life reflects the heart of Jeremiah 31:3: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn you.””

Breaking Chains Women's Ministry holds monthly meetings in Vero Beach, Florida. We have speakers, read scripture, and have fellowship.Meetings are every Monday at 6:30pm
